The ERISA/Employee Benefits group is seeking a highly experienced Senior Paralegal to support attorneys in complex, high-stakes litigation. The ideal candidate brings deep litigation experience and thrives in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to support cases from inception through trial. Trial experience is strongly preferred. The position involves some administrative responsibilities, which amounts to less than 25% of total responsibilities. The position is available in our Washington, D.C. or Minneapolis, MN office on a full-time basis

Required Qualifications:

• At least 5 years paralegal litigation experience
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines under pressure
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Advanced experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Proficiency with litigation technology, including e-discovery platforms and trial presentation tools such as TrialDirector or OnCue
• Ability to perform job responsibilities independently, while being a team player
• Strong work ethic, sense of professionalism, discretion, integrity, judgment, and respect for confidentiality
• Willingness to assist, as necessary, to meet deadlines and improve workflow for the attorneys in the group
• Ability to work overtime as needed 

Key Responsibilities:

• Support all phases of litigation, including discovery, pretrial preparation, trial, and post-trial activities
• Prepare, cite-check, and assist in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses
• File pleadings and documents with the court, including filings under seal
• Maintain case files, deadlines, and litigation calendars to ensure compliance with court rules and scheduling orders
• Prepare and enter attorney reimbursable expenses; submit invoices and track payments
• Communicate with clients, third-parties, and the court/clerk, as appropriate

Trial Preparation & Support (Strongly Preferred):

• Assist attorneys in all aspects of trial preparation, including exhibit preparation, witness coordination, and trial binders
• Manage and organize trial exhibits (both physical and electronic), including numbering & tracking
• Coordinate logistics for trial, including courtroom technology, war room setup, and vendor management
• Provide in-court support during trial, including electronic presentation of evidence (“hot seat” operation), real-time document retrieval, exhibit handling, and other assistance as needed

 Schedule:

Full Time: 35-hour work week – typically Monday through Friday; 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. eastern time, with flexibility for overtime as needed. If the position is filled in D.C., it will be a hybrid and/or in-office position. If filled in Minnesota, the position will be remote but will require occasional in-person attendance at firm events in Minneapolis.

We offer a competitive salary, excellent benefits, and a wonderful work environment. The expected salary (excluding bonus) is $80,000-$100,000 per year or an hourly rate of $43.96. - $54.95.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors. You will be eligible to receive a year-end bonus, the issuance and amount of which are discretionary and dependent upon the Firm's profitability.
