Required Qualifications & Experience
· 5+ years of directly related human resources management experience;
· Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, written, verbal, and otherwise);
· Organizational skills with an emphasis on attention to detail;
· Strong supervisory and management skills with proven ability to lead;
· Ability to prioritize and independently manage time;
· Computer literacy e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, etc.;
· Ability to adapt, delegate, and problem-solve as needed.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree;
· 5+ years of experience working in a mid-size or large-size law firm;
· SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP.

Job Overview/About Rodey & the HR Director Role
As one of the oldest and largest local law firms in New Mexico, Rodey has established a reputation for excellence. The HR Director role is heavily focused on the employee experience, and involves supporting employees both directly and indirectly in a comprehensive array of HR-related matters. This ranges from overseeing day-to-day operations, to assessing, developing, coordinating, and implementing matters including but not limited to:
· Ensuring compliance with safety practices and employment law;
· Establishing and implementing action plans to acquire and retain top-talent;
· Overseeing and enforcing hiring and termination practices;
· Benefits and compensation evaluation, administration, and management;
· Leave tracking and administration;
· Data preparation, interpretation, analysis, and reporting;
· Participation in various committees including the Retirement Plans Committee and the Recruiting Committee;
· Work assignments, performance assessment, and conflict management;
· Evaluating budgetary needs and adjusting when necessary.
While the HR Director is responsible for personnel matters that require professional judgement, they work closely with the HR Administrative Assistant, Operations Director, IT Director, Accounting Manager and Executive Director to accomplish these goals.

Job Description
· Address HR and personnel related questions and issues as they arise;
· Offer support and guidance to all employees as needed;
· Develop/revise and enforce company policy based on the most current data available;
· Allocate/reallocate work assignments as needed based on business needs;
· Assess work assignments and determine if reassignments or other adjustments are necessary.
· Provide constructive and timely feedback when deemed necessary;
· Ensure compliance with state and federal laws/regulatory agencies;
· Performance management including composing, delivering, and monitoring performance improvement plans;
· Addressing issues including administering discipline and notice of termination in accordance with company policy.
General Duties
· Manages and monitors personnel programs including, but not limited to:
o Compensation, benefits, and leave management;
o Maintaining HRIS database;
o Performance management;
o Programs focused on productivity, recognition, and morale.
· Recordkeeping and document retention;
· Visiting and checking-in with employees;
· Following up on matters that cannot be resolved immediately/matters that require third-party input;
· Compile, interpret, analyze, and present reports for the Executive Director;
o Provide data analytics and other reporting requirements to various benefit vendors and insurance companies as requested.
· Collaborate with various departments as needed;
· Interact and negotiate with benefit vendor representatives, insurance brokers, and other outside entities;
o Provide Executive Director with input regarding direction of group benefit plans.
· Responsible for talent acquisition, retention, and management;
o Sitting member of Rodey’s Recruitment Committee in a support position.
· Draft, revise, publish, update, implement, and enforce policies, training, and initiatives that align with Rodey’s organizational goals and strategies;
o Remain current on frequently changing workplace landscapes such as employment law and regulatory boards/agencies involved in practicing law;
o Communicate and facilitate policy and organizational changes.
· Participate in and manage processes involved in Rodey’s retirement plan;
o Sitting member of Rodey’s Retirement Plan Committee in a support position.
· Research, initiate, and lead Rodey’s efforts to establish a more equitable, inclusive, and diverse employee and client population;
o Sitting member of Rodey’s DE & I Committee in a support position.
· Research, compile, and analyze data reflecting industry trends including building and reviewing reports/metrics based on industry standards;
· Conduct and document investigations;
· Conflict/dispute resolution and mediation;
· Other duties as required (this is a hands-on role).
