As a Legal Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our attorneys and paralegals with day-to-day case management, client communication, and administrative tasks. This position also offers opportunities for professional growth within the firm, including the potential to advance into a Paralegal role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to attorneys and paralegals, including preparing correspondence, forms, and case files.
- Assist in scheduling client appointments, USCIS interviews, and court hearings.
- Organize and maintain physical and digital case files to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
- Manage incoming calls, emails, and client inquiries, ensuring prompt and professional communication.
- Track and update case deadlines and maintain the firm’s master calendar.
- Assist clients in gathering and organizing required documentation for filings.
- Prepare and proofread legal documents and forms for submission.
- Perform basic legal research as needed.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Legal Assistant, Administrative Assistant, or similar role in a law firm is preferred (immigration law experience is a plus).
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional demeanor, discretion, and ability to maintain client confidentiality.
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office and or case management software (training provided).
