The Nemecek Firm is seeking a Fulani and English speaking Immigration Legal Assistant to support our attorneys and help manage immigration cases from intake through filing and follow-up.
This is a client-facing position focused on communicating with clients, gathering and organizing information, preparing legal documents, tracking case deadlines, and helping ensure cases move forward efficiently.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, comfortable working with clients from diverse backgrounds, and interested in building a career in immigration law.
Fluency in both Fulani and English is required. Prior immigration law or legal support experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.

What You'll Do
• Assist attorneys with preparing immigration petitions, applications, forms, and supporting documentation.
• Organize and maintain accurate electronic and physical client files.
• Communicate with clients to collect information and documents needed for their cases.
• Provide clients with case updates and respond to questions as directed by the attorney.
• Track case deadlines, appointments, filings, and other important dates.
• Assist with communications and correspondence involving USCIS, EOIR, the Department of State, and other government agencies.
• Translate documents and interpret client communications when needed.
• Assist with legal research and gathering case-related information.
• Review documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Enter and maintain case information in the firm's case management system.
• Assist with scheduling, data entry, correspondence, and other administrative tasks.
• Work closely with attorneys and other team members to keep cases organized and moving forward.

Required:
• Fluency in both Fulani and English.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities.
• Professional and compassionate approach to working with clients.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred:
• Prior experience in immigration law, a law firm, or another legal support role.
• Experience preparing immigration forms or filing documents with USCIS.
• Familiarity with USCIS, EOIR, or Department of State processes.
• Experience with legal case management software.
• Bachelor's degree, paralegal certificate, or comparable education and experience.
• Proficiency in additional languages.
