Apply today!RESPONSIBILITIESCase Files & Land Records- Review electronic and legacy case files; organize, maintain, and update supporting documentation
- Support title-file reconstruction and organize records relating to property title, acquisition history, and land status
- Prepare and analyze land acquisition forms, trespass reports, CRIM tax-exempt forms, and other legal or administrative documents
- Maintain traceable, usable records and support integration of land-status information into the Forest Service National Land Status Record System (LSRS)
- Support property-profile development, records validation, status tracking, and cleanup of administrative or registral data
- Help correct municipal tax-assessment errors with the Centro de Recaudación de Ingresos Municipales (CRIM)
Research, Drafting & Agency Coordination- Research reports, case law, title claims, encroachments, and related background materials
- Prepare summaries, chronologies, reference materials, memoranda, briefings, correspondence, and issue summaries
- Coordinate records and information requests with title, survey, property-tax, registry, and other program partners
- Liaise with PR agencies and systems (e.g., Property Registry, Catastro Digital, DRNA, Junta de Planificación, and CRIM)
- Provide administrative and legal-reference support without giving legal advice or making Government decisions
- Maintain Government database and system information in accordance with Government procedures
- Track completed and ongoing work, issues, next steps, and continuity documentation
- Prepare monthly progress reporting covering completed work, upcoming work, and resolved or unresolved issues
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE- Experience in paralegal, legal administrative, secretarial, or comparable administrative support
- Working knowledge of legal terms and procedures in Puerto Rico
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
- Valid State driver's license and ability to complete Forest Service driver/operator training
- Ability to perform full-time (40 hours per week) and meet the required work schedule
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & SKILLS- Puerto Rico Property Registry, land/title-record research, and related property-record support
- Puerto Rico municipal tax-system knowledge, including CRIM
- Familiarity with DRNA, Catastro Digital, and Junta de Planificación in support of Puerto Rico land-record activities
- Research, writing, records organization, time management, and accurate Government database/case-record maintenance
