The Tyson Law Firm | Dallas, Texas | Full-Time | In Office
Salary: $70,000–$85,000 per year, depending on experience, plus performance-based bonus opportunity
The Tyson Law Firm is seeking an operations leader to help build a more accountable, profitable, and scalable law firm. This is not a traditional administrative position. The Operations Manager will own the systems and people that move prospective clients from first contact to signed engagement, ensure matters and payments do not stall, and create clear weekly accountability across intake and operations.
The right candidate is a hands-on leader who can coach a team, use numbers to identify problems, improve systems, and insist on follow-through. You will work directly with the Founder/CEO and have meaningful authority to improve workflows, performance, and results.
Please Read Before Applying
This is not an administrative assistant, office coordinator, legal assistant, or entry-level management position.
We are looking for someone with actual law-firm experience and direct responsibility for managing people. Candidates should be comfortable holding employees accountable, reviewing performance metrics, correcting workflow problems, and making sure work moves forward without constant involvement from the Founder/CEO.
Applicants must have at least 3 years of law-firm experience and at least 2 years of direct supervisory or management experience with employees reporting to them. Applicants who do not meet these minimum requirements will not be considered.
What You Will Own
* Lead response, intake follow-up, consultation scheduling, and the client-retention process across the firm.
* Intake-team performance, including call review, coaching, staffing recommendations, coverage, and accountability.
* Conversion and collections discipline: ensuring prospective clients are promptly contacted, qualified, signed where appropriate, and moved through fee and retainer collection processes.
* A weekly operating scorecard showing key numbers, trends, problems, and areas requiring action.
* Case-movement accountability across practice areas, including identifying stalled matters, missed follow-ups, aging tasks, and workflow bottlenecks.
* Staff accountability for deadlines, assigned responsibilities, productivity, and follow-through.
* Systems and workflows that make responsibilities clear and reduce matters falling through the cracks.
* Regular operating meetings with clear agendas, action items, owners, and deadlines.
* Hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management for operational and support staff.
* Working with attorneys and case-management personnel to improve client service and case progression.
* Billing and collections processes where operational follow-through is required.
* Identifying recurring operational problems and implementing solutions rather than simply reporting the problem.
* Reporting directly to the Founder/CEO regarding performance, staffing, problems, and recommended solutions.
What Success Looks Like
This person should be able to answer questions such as:
* How many leads came in this week, and what happened to them?
* Which prospective clients have not been contacted or followed up with?
* What percentage of qualified leads are converting to signed clients?
* Where are cases or client matters getting stuck?
* Which employees are consistently meeting expectations and which are not?
* What operational issue needs attention this week?
* What changed because the Operations Manager identified and addressed it?
The goal is to create an organization in which important work is measured, assigned, followed up on, and completed rather than dependent on the Founder personally discovering problems.
Required Qualifications
* Minimum 3 years of experience working in a law firm.
* Minimum 2 years of direct management or supervisory experience with employees reporting to you.
* Demonstrated experience managing employees, assigning responsibilities, enforcing deadlines, and addressing performance problems.
* Experience improving processes, workflows, or operational systems.
* Ability to work with KPIs, reports, scorecards, or other measurable performance information.
* Strong organizational and follow-through skills.
* Ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, staff, clients, and firm leadership.
* Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where priorities must be managed without losing accountability.
* Willing and able to work in office in Dallas, Texas.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in a personal-injury, criminal-defense, family-law, or other high-volume law firm.
* Experience overseeing intake, client conversion, case management, billing, collections, or similar revenue-related workflows.
* Experience building or improving systems rather than simply working within an existing system.
* Experience recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training employees.
* Familiarity with law-firm case-management software and reporting systems.
* Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
* College degree preferred but not required where substantial relevant management experience exists.
First 90 Days
The Operations Manager will be expected to learn the firm’s current people, systems, and workflows quickly and begin establishing stronger operational discipline.
Initial priorities will include:
* Evaluating the intake and lead-follow-up process.
* Establishing or improving weekly KPI reporting.
* Identifying significant case-movement and workflow bottlenecks.
* Evaluating staff responsibilities and accountability.
* Improving meeting and follow-up rhythms.
* Identifying systems that need to be documented, changed, or enforced.
* Developing recommendations for staffing, training, and operational improvement.
We are not looking for someone who needs to be taught how a law firm works from the ground up. We are looking for someone who can learn our firm, understand where the gaps are, and help build the systems and accountability needed for the next stage of growth.
