Elder Law & Estate Planning Paralegal / Legal Assistant

We are seeking an entry level Paralegal / Legal Assistant to join our Elder Law & Estate Planning Department in Lake Success, NY. This department handles all aspects of asset protection, estate planning, estate administration, and estate litigation. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and detail-oriented professional to support attorneys in a fast-paced and client-focused environment. The successful candidate will be eager to grow alongside the firm.
Responsibilities:
- Review and summarize estate planning documents
- Maintain and organize client files and records
- Communicate with clients regarding case status and document collection
- Assist with drafting and reviewing legal documents
- Prepare and manage spreadsheets and supporting materials
- Assist with e-filing through NYSCEF
- Provide general administrative and case support to attorneys as needed
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in a related role, law firm experience is preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable communicating directly with clients and attorneys
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary range: $45,000 – $65,000, commensurate with experience
