Keller and Heckman LLP is an internationally recognized law firm headquartered in Washington, D.C. The firm is seeking an experienced Professional Assistant to support lawyers in our San Francisco office handling complex state and federal litigation matters. This role is integral to maintaining the accuracy, organization, and timely execution of court-related work in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare, format, proofread, and electronically file pleadings, motions, discovery materials, and correspondence in California state and federal courts.
• Manage litigation calendars and track court deadlines.
• Coordinate meetings, depositions, hearings, and travel arrangements.
• Maintain organized electronic and physical case files.
• Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, and internal team members.
• Monitor and route incoming communications to ensure timely follow-up.
• Support time entry, billing review, and expense processing.
• Perform additional administrative duties as needed to support the litigation team.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 2 years of litigation legal assistant experience, preferably supporting California state and federal matters.
• Demonstrated experience with California court rules and e-filing procedures.
• Experience supporting multiple lawyers and managing competing deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems.
• Ability to work additional hours as required to meet deadlines.

Hybrid Work Arrangement
This role follows a hybrid work model. Hybrid schedules are determined based on role requirements and business needs. Must be local to San Francisco, CA area.
Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this position is: $75,000 - $100,000, representing the low and high end of the salary range. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications, consistent with California law. This position is Non-Exempt and eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable federal and California wage and hour laws.
